The much awaited Chal Mera Putt 3 starring Amrinder Gill and Simi Chahal in the lead roles has finally made its worldwide theatrical release. Just a month after the release of Chal Mera Putt 2, the third installment has kept the legacy of comedy going.
Chal Mera Putt 3 had a lot of expectations of people and was being speculated to be the concluding part of the series that would finally end the three-movie long drama filled with a substantial amount of comedy in it. It does not seem to end the story of the series.
Chal Mera Putt is a name that has masters of comedy carrying it. Just like always, the hilarious duo of Butta (Akram Udas) and Tabrez (Nasir Chinyoti) has given the movie doses of laughter to keep the audience engaged. Advocate Bilal Randhawa (Zafri Khan) is a gem of a character. Whenever the actor is on the screen you cannot help but laugh at the hilarious sarcastic comedy of his.
Chaudhary Shamsher (Iftikhar Thakur) has looked in a different form this time. He was already a house of comedy and he’s just upped his level with the third part of the movie. Billa (Gurshabad) and Bikkar Chacha’s (Hardeep Gill) combo is also a brilliant one. The stars of the movie remain Jinder (Amrinder Gill) and Savy (Simi Chahal). However, the latest addition to the list, Channa Saab (Sajan Abbas) has failed to deliver as per the expectations. His dialogue delivery and character in particular feels irritating at times.
Simi Chahal’s character has been the standout one. Be it her love story with Jinder or her acting after the hidden twist of the movie, she’s been totally brilliant. Her character adds more to the story.
The story has a big twist in Jinder and Savy’s wedding. Though the audience-favourite couple gets married, but not in a way they expected. The film takes a turn from that point, the comedy turns into an emotional drama. There are scenes at that point which make the audience awe at the amazing acting of the actors. Especially a scene where Amrinder Gill is talking to Simi Chahal, but the latter can neither listen nor respond to him. It breaks your heart to see the lovely couple in a condition like that and their acting just adds more perfection to it. There are a lot of such well furnished brilliant scenes in the movie.
While the audience was expecting the movie to conclude the story and end with Jinder-Savy’s marriage, it was not so. It has an inconclusive end that leads the audience to think if there will be another part! The post credit scene also has a part where all the characters get old and the couple is happily married, but there isn’t much to it.
Overall, the movie filled with great comedians in every character does not fail to deliver the comical aspect but the story feels very loose. The music of the movie is amazing too. When you have Amrinder Gill on it, how can you expect it not to be brilliant? The direction by Janjot has also been excellent, and some scenes will give you a dose of laughter while some are enough to make you shed a tear. However, It has not focussed on the ‘international students lifestyle’ that it was known to deliver, rather the focus has been more on the lead characters’ marriage. Still, Chal Mera Putt 3 is a must-watch for the brilliant performances of the actors.
