Two men have been arrested on murder charges in a shooting last November that left a juvenile dead and two men seriously injured, Durham police said Friday.
Yahir Jacinto Gamasa, 18, and Javier Gutierrez Pascual, 22, were both taken into custody after being indicted earlier this month on one count of murder, one count of attempted murder and one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury each, the Durham Police Department said in a news release.
Both men are being held at the Durham County jail without bail, police said.
Officers responded to a shooting call on the 1000 block of Drew Street at around 11:18 p.m. Nov. 12, police previously said.
They found two males inside a vehicle, both of whom had been shot. One of them, an adult, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The other, later identified as a juvenile, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another man who had also been shot was found nearby, and was also taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said at the time.
Investigators continue to believe the shooting was not random, police said Friday, without providing a motive or any possible relationship between the suspects and the people who were shot.
